美術 太郎｜BT（1975-）
1975年秋田県（日本）生まれ。多摩美術大学卒業。自作ポストカードの路上販売から活動を開始する。ブランド＝作家の知名度によって作品が評価されることを痛快に批判し、顔や本名を公表せず「美術太郎（BT）」名義で制作を続けている。アートが一過性のラグジュアリーアイテムかつ投機対象として過熱する昨今、本当にアートを必要としているのは社会的・物質的強者ではなく、むしろ清貧なる弱者であると考え、「100万円の絵を1枚描くよりも1万円の絵を100枚描きたい」、「私の絵はみんなの心にそっと寄り添う心の栄養でありたい」と美術太郎は語っています。

アートは心の栄養なのだと思います。

BIJUTSU Taro｜BT (b. 1975) was born in Akita (JAPAN), graduated from Tama Art University. He started his career by selling self-made postcards on the streets. He criticizes that artwork should not be evaluated based on the brand name or artist’s fame. Therefore he continues to produce work under the name “BIJUTSU Taro｜BT” without disclosing his identity. Instead of Art becoming luxury item for the rich, BT is hoping his work to be the nourishments for the poor who needs art. BT says, “I rather draw 100 paintings for 10,000 Yen than do 1 painting for 1 Million Yen, I hope that my art gently provides nourishment to everyone’s heart.”
